Research Log
Continue to read new sources on your topics, recording complete citation information for each of them and taking notes on their content. Consult scholarly books and journal articles, relevant primary texts, articles in specialized encyclopedias, and scholarly sources that are available in electronic form. You may also consult websites, just be sure that you have evaluated the source as dependable using the criteria we discussed in class.
Create a research
log containing at least five sources, one for each resource that you read.
I expect you to find resources from multiple places. Do not solely rely
on websites. I don't like to give restrictions when it comes to sources
but remember that your writing is expected to be academic and professional.
Part of creating academic discourse is choosing reliable sources that contribute
to rather than detract from your writing.
Each entry should include the bibliographic information of the source; an
indication of the topic that is addressed in the source; its relevance to
your topic, how you might use the resource in your project or why you wouldn’t
use it. Include questions you have about the article, questions you have
for me and questions the resources raise for your larger project. Be sure
to propose questions that interest you and that you will be able to address
with further research.
Criteria for Grading is as Follows:
